The purpose of No Book Left Unread is to encourage students to engage in self-selected reading to learn the fun, recreation, and pure enjoyment that reading gives. To that end, we do not have any required reading lists associated with our summer reading program. We do have suggested reading lists (see section below) for student and adult participants. Student participants may also be interested in reading the South Carolina Association of School Librarians Book Award Nominees for the Picture Book, Children's Book, Junior Book, and Young Adult Book Awards. These nominee lists are available online at http://www.scasl.net/bookawards./index.htm.
Suggested Reading Lists
These suggested reading lists are updated annually and the new lists published in January. For inclusion on any of the lists (except the Book Series lists), a book must have been published within five years from the current calendar date and must have at least two favorable reviews from a notable review source. Send suggestions for considerations to malewine@ed.sc.gov.
